Dr. Mary Elizabeth Baker

Dr. Mary Elizabeth Baker grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina, and she was one of the rare kids who looked forward to going to the dentist. She and her siblings even played dentist at home. Shadowing her aunt, who is a dentist, turned that early interest into a calling: helping people feel confident in their smiles and in themselves.

She earned her B.S. in Biology with honors from the University of South Carolina Aiken and her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Dental College of Georgia. Along the way, a mentor showed her what it looks like to treat every patient with compassion. As she puts it, “There’s a patient attached to all these teeth.” Dr. Baker is a member of the American Dental Association.

At Waynesboro Family Dentistry, she wants every visit to feel like catching up with family. She remembers the details, asks how your grandson’s football game went, and keeps the office a judgment-free place, especially for patients who have been away from the dentist for a while. She provides family dentistry, dentures, and Invisalign clear aligners for patients who want a more discreet option.

Outside the office, Dr. Baker and her husband are raising two little girls and are members of Waynesboro First Baptist Church. On fall Saturdays they are watching college football: he roots for Georgia, and she roots for South Carolina.
